Odessa Wughanga Omanyo is a Neonatal Clinical Instructor at the School of Nursing, Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. She also works as a clinical nurse in the hospital's Newborn unit. Odessa served as a founding member of the Association of Neonatal Nurses_Kenya (ANN_K), now the Society of Neonatal Nurses _Kenya, SoNN_K, whose main focus is to unify and empower neonatal nurses all over the country to offer high-quality care to small and sick newborns, together with their families. As a personal goal, Odessa intends to equip future neonatal nurses with the knowledge and skills to offer respectful bereavement care to affected families and advocate for, and spread awareness of the importance of the prevention of perinatal and newborn deaths and their impact to society.
