Jointly organized by the Uruguayan Society of Pediatrics (SUP), the Argentine Society of Pediatrics (SAP), the International Stillbirth Alliance, the International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID), and local parent-based organisation Era En Abril, this conference highlighted the need to raise awareness about actions to reduce stillbirths and sudden infant deaths globally. This was the first time the conference has been held in Latin America, where there is a critical need to develop effective health policies and improve regional statistics and records of intrauterine death.
