Grants and Stipends (applications now closed)

The 2008 International Stillbirth Conference is pleased to offer a number of stipends to facilitate participation for delegates from developing countries. These stipends will be used to contribute in part or fully with expenses for travel and a per-diem for the stay in Norway, as well as waivers of Conference and social programme fees and accommodation-costs. Such stipends and waivers are available only for participants from developing countries, as defined by the United Nations.

Applications for such stipends should be submitted as a common word-processing format (preferably Microsoft Word) file, or a PDF-file, using the form below. The application should not exceed two written page with a maximum of three attachments (i.e. letter of recommendation, quotes from airline carrier).

The application should emphasise the purpose / need of the applicant to participate, as well as any intended scientific or other contribution to the conference. The application should specify what is applied for, in the currency of USD. If the application includes travel expenses a specification of the basis of the cost estimates should be included - preferably an attached quote from airline carriers. Waiver of conference and social programme fees and accommodation costs, as well as the per-diem, are fixed sums and need no detailed explanation other than the expected days of arrival and departure from Norway. The application should also specify the contribution from their home institution, if any, and preferably a letter of recommendation or acceptance from their home institution regarding their participation.

Stipends for travel expenses will be awarded as refunds upon presentation of receipts of actual travel expenses - up to the limit of the amount awarded.
