The SIDS Family Association Japan was founded in 1993 and now has 13 chapters nationwide.
The membership consists of 564 bereaved families, 33 supporting members and 52 advisors (medical professionals, counselors, etc.) SIDSFAJ is a volunteer organization governed by an executive committee whose positions are filled by bereaved parent members. We presently have two hired staff members.

First Candle/SIDS Alliance is a national nonprofit health organization uniting parents, caregivers and researchers nationwide with government, business and community service groups to advance infant health and survival.  With help from a national network of member and partner organizations, we are working to increase public participation and support in the fight against infant mortality.

The National SIDS Council of Australia, trading as SIDS and Kids, is a high-profile and well-respected not-for-profit organisation that boasts an enviable history of success.  It comprises a National Office based in Melbourne with the National Research and Programs Unit largely based in Canberra, and nine Member Organisations (MOs) based in the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Hunter Region of NSW, ACT Region, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

Perinatal Mortality
Special Interest Group (PNM-SIG)

In acknowledging the importance of developing a systematic approach to the audit and review of perinatal deaths in Australia and New Zealand, the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) endorsed the establishment of the Perinatal Mortality Special Interest Group (PNM-SIG) in March 2003. The establishment of this group was the culmination of collaborative efforts of members of the PSANZ over many years.

The Mater was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy. In 2002, Mater Health Services became an incorporated body, charged with the responsibility to continue the Mission of the Sisters of Mercy to “offer compassionate service to the sick and needy”.

The Mater Education Centre was established in February 1998 to meet the ongoing education, training and professional development needs of all staff of the Mater Health Services. The Centre now provides a centralised point of focus and coordination of organisational learning and clinical education.

The Women's and Children's Health Service comprises two of Western Australia’s best known health care providers, King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women (KEMH) and Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH).

Established as separate entities early last century, the Hospitals were amalgamated as one organisation in 1994. In August 2002, following the Government's restructure of the WA health system, they were formally named the Women's and Children's Health Service (WCHS).

In July 2005 a single public pathology service was created in Western Australia. The new service PathWest, Laboratory Medicine WA, is headed by a Chief Executive Dr Peter Flett, a Chemical Pathologist. The pathology laboratories at Royal Perth Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, QEII Medical Centre (previously PathCentre), remote and rural laboratories and the merged pathology services at King Edward Memorial and Princess Margaret Hospitals were merged forming this new entity.
