ANZSA works in close collaboration with:
The IMPACT Network
The Interdisciplinary Maternal Perinatal Australasian Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Network is dedicated to the improvement of maternal and perinatal health by the promotion of well-designed randomised controlled trials (RCTs), and the dissemination and application of their results.
Among its primary objectives include:
to identify key research issues in maternal and perinatal care
to promote the design, registration, completion, dissemination and application of appropriate RCTs in maternal perinatal care
to provide a forum for discussion, communication and collaboration between consumers and investigators in all disciplines, for planned or ongoing trials in maternal perinatal care
The IMPACT Network is a committee of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand.
PSANZ-Perinatal Mortality Group
In acknowledging the importance of developing a systematic approach to the audit and review of perinatal deaths in Australia and New Zealand, the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) endorsed the establishment of the Perinatal Mortality Group (PMG) in March 2003. The establishment of this group was the culmination of collaborative efforts of members of the PSANZ over many years. The PSANZ-PMG has developed a classification system for perinatal and neonatal deaths which is now being implemented across Australia and some parts of New Zealand. It is currently developing a clinical practice guideline for perinatal mortality audit incorporating psychological and social aspects of perinatal bereavement which aims to enable a systematic approach to the investigation and audit of perinatal deaths across Australia and New Zealand.
The WOMBAT Collaboration (WOMen and Babies Health and Wellbeing : Action through Trials)
A group of Australian perinatal researchers and practitioners has been awarded an NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) enabling grant to enhance the national health and medical research effort. The WOMBAT collaboration promotes and supports high quality randomised controlled trials in the perinatal area by:
Identifying gaps in the research
Supporting multicentre trials
Providing education and training
